The musings of three artists on their joint venture into the world of Print Pastel and Paint
Due to open on the exhibition on the 10th we watched the forecast on the TV and worried....a lot! Not only was the thick band of snow creeping down the country going to make it difficult for us to get to the Gallery to set up, it was also going to scupper any plans for a glitzy opening! No one would be able to get there! We made a call to deliver our paintings to the gallery on Saturday and cancel the opening until Monday, thereby giving the roads a chance to clear and locals time to dig their way out!
So along came Monday morning, after a record snowfall across Shropshire and off we went! Determination and reckless wilfulness fuelling the journey we all arrived at the gallery Monday morning and started frantically hammering nails and hanging paintings. We eventually left at 6pm and were very pleased with our efforts. The Bear Steps Art Gallery is such a lovely building with real atmosphere, and run entirely by a team of volunteers, all ready to impart the history of the building and its neighbours. With a gorgeous cafe next door, happy to deliver refreshments, we will be open for business right up until the 23rd December. Forget the perfume, scarves, socks and booze this Christmas and give a piece of original art. You will not only delight the recipient, but you will be supporting local artists as well. We hope to see you soon!

We are three artists and more importantly friends that share a love of art, wine and cake! Gathering for weekly art making sessions over the last 10 years, and even when one of us moved counties, we are bound together through a common thread whose tapestry of life, laughter and art come together in our first exhibition!
